Gastroesophageal reflux- known as GERD.
Reflux is a gastric problem where acidic fluids such as hydrochloric acid, Helicobacter pylori and pepsins found in the stomach pass into the oesophagus, thus creating an unpleasant condition where food comes back into our mouths. This is due to the softening of the lower valve (sphincter) of the oesophagus which allows the passage of these gastric fluids.
The sensations that create these acidic juices, create unpleasant odours in the mouth, damage the oesophagus, damage the teeth, gums as the acidic fluid is too strong. If this process is repeated often then it should be treated as it can create chronic inflammation in the throat and can aggravate up to cancer.
Some people have a burning sensation in the chest and arrhythmia in the heart, due to a disorder of the digestive system, which at the moment of reflux takes a step back from food.
Reflux mainly occurs in the elderly, but there are many young people and even children who have reflux. This is due to the pressed foods, stress, insomnia and disorders of the nervous system that are caused more and more not only to the mind but also to our body, forcing it to stay up late at night online or do work that is on schedule. night. This imbalance that we do to the body, and acidic and unhealthy foods, such as non-organic drinks, carbonated, or alcohol and cigarettes, chocolate, or even foods that are not alkaline, tend to cause digestive problems as well as reflux.
If we have reflux, we should definitely brush our teeth because the acidic fluids coming from the stomach to the mouth are so strong that they can weaken the teeth themselves.
⛑ What should we avoid?
Stress, to avoid stress which creates massive problems in body, soul and mind.
The most important thing is to create a healthy diet.
Do not drink fizzy drinks, with dyes and pressed sugar.
If we are overweight, it is very important to lose a few pounds, without damaging the stomach, staying without food.
Cut down on eating sugars, chocolates, especially at dinner.
Do not eat pressed foods, such as fast food or high-fat foods.
Do not smoke cigarettes, as they aggravate the condition, increase acidity.
It is very important to avoid sedatives such as ibuprofen, ok, aspirin, etc. as they only give sedation but do not cure. On the other hand antibiotics have many side effects on the health of the human body.
Garlic or onions in salads, aggravate the condition, they should be consumed cooked.
🧶 How can we deal with this problem verbally?
Sleeping on the left arm, prevents acidic fluids from going to the oesophagus. Some doctors may suggest sleeping with your head up (with pillows).
Many may suggest lemon, but I would avoid lemon in alternative treatment. I would also avoid mint, which helps with digestion, for those who have abdominal bloating, but in the case of reflux, mint would promote even more acidity in the stomach. Fruits such as citrus, tangerines, pomegranates, oranges and any other fruit that contains acidity should also be avoided as they irritate the stomach walls, and consequently promote more reflux.
The best suggestion is to consume (german) chamomile, which in herbalism is known as the mother of the intestines, as it has the healing ability of the body but also of the nervous system. Chamomile is used for fever, in children, for exacerbations of dermatitis, for colitis but also for gastrointestinal problems.
Another suggestion would be to consume apples, nuts that help protect the stomach mucosa, as they have alkaline oil to soothe the aggravated condition.
Ginger, ginger roots are extremely calamine and curative if they are combined with laurel, oregano and consumed as tea. Drink three to four cups of tea a day.

Fennel seeds are very good to chew in the mouth, but are also used in tea. They reduce stomach acidity and help soothe heart pain. Most importantly, they help strengthen the sphincter muscle (valve). They should not be consumed in large quantities by pregnant mothers, as they dilute the blood and can cause bleeding. For epileptics it is not suggested to be consumed, diabetics and those who suffer from hypoglycaemia. Fennel seeds can lower blood sugar levels.
Anise seeds also reduce gas and bloating in the stomach and have antispasmodic values, and these can be chewed after eating.
Hollyhock also helps cure mucous membranes in the mouth, throat, inflammation, soothe irritations of the stomach layers as well as reflux acids and intestines.

✍️ Tip:
You can check with your doctor as soon as you start to feel heart burning, feeling that acidic food comes up to your mouth or when you start to have abnormal food absorption and feeling stomach ache. You should not neglige all those symptoms as they can be an inside alarm for you to take action.
